This might take me the rest of the year, or longer. But the yarn and needles are away on holiday with me, in the hopes of getting off to a good start. Nothing like beginner's enthusiasm*!
Wish me luck...

Good luck! I've been on a knitting kick all summer. I love knitting and crocheting as much as I do sewing. It's very relaxing and feels less like work since you can do it on the couch while watching tv. Post some progress updates!
ReplyDeleteThat wool looks lovely!
ReplyDeleteWe all need a bit of 'luck, ignorance...' to push us! I bet this will come out beautifully. I can't wait to see it (and am willing to wait until the end of the year!).
ReplyDeleteI am considering knitting too...at least one cardi...maybe I will have it by next winter... Go Jo go.... Keep us updated
ReplyDeleteSure, looks perfect so far :)
ReplyDeletethank you! You're right, it's so great how it doesn't feel like 'working on' something, which can happen so easily with sewing
ReplyDeleteit is! and it was not as expensive as I feared (though I had been psyching myself up in case I had to spend a fortune on it :-)
ReplyDeletethank! yes I feel like knowing nothing much about this is the best motivation!
ReplyDeletedo you knit at all so far? I found the movements came back to me really easily having learned the total basics (and nothing more) as a kid. Once you get into the swing of it, it's so therapeutic. Plus, nice cardigans!
ReplyDeletehehe thanks :-) Let's hope the finished article looks as nice and neat as those wound balls of yarn!
